Pencak Silat is the collect name for the fighting arts of the Indonesian archipelago, Malaysia and partly of the Philippine islands. Pencak silat is an art on selfdefence, but there is an significant difference with other martial arts. Behind estetic motions rest a powerfull way of selfdefence!

Some of the more authentic pencak silat styles has its origin in West Sumatra, the area of the Minangkabau people. Styles as Silek Tuo, Silek Pauh, Silek Kumango and Silek Seteralak are still taught today.
