You are looking for a unique art of selfdefense. Maybe you're practicing a martial art and you are missing depth. This sounds familiar, because most martial art schools in the West have thrown away the underlying philosophies and are teaching a physical sport. Thats fine for some, but as a result the traditional martial arts are disappearing.

At Silek Tuo Pusako Minang we believe in preserving the authentic martial arts. We think that the old fighting arts can be of value in an modern Western lifestyle. We believe that traditional martial arts, like Silek Tuo have to stay in its orginal form. Therefore, at our school you will learn self-defense the way it is supposed to be.

Silek Tuo is an art of self defense from West Sumatra Indonesia, better known as pencak silat. Silek Tuo literally means “old Silat” and the style is seen as a base of pencak silat in general. Our school is based in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra and Amsterdam and Amersfoort, the Netherlands.

In a small group you will learn to defend yourself, you will discover the mental and spiritual side of the battle and you will become acquainted with ancient traditions.
